Miniature 3D printing — detailed figures for tabletop games and collections

The world of tabletop games and collectible figures demands incredible precision and attention to fine detail. 3D-printed miniatures open up endless possibilities for players of Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, Pathfinder and dozens of other tabletop games, as well as for collectors of scale models and diorama fans. Instead of the limited range of shop-bought miniatures, you get access to thousands of unique models that can be printed specifically for your campaign or collection.

Our miniature 3D printing service in Lviv specialises in high-quality reproduction of fine detail — from the armour texture of a fantasy warrior to the tiniest elements of architectural models. We’ve dialled in print settings that reproduce even the smallest details of figures clearly.

What we print

Our experience with miniature 3D printing covers a wide range of items for different hobbies and professional needs:

  • Tabletop miniatures — heroes, monsters, NPCs and other characters for D&D, Warhammer 40K, Age of Sigmar, Pathfinder. Scales from 28 mm to 75 mm with every detail preserved: weapons, armour, facial expressions, dynamic poses.
  • Gaming terrain and buildings — ruins, castles, caves, trees, bridges and other scenery for atmospheric game tables. Modular systems you can combine to create unique game maps.
  • Scale vehicle models — tanks, aircraft, ships and cars in popular scales. Detail that will satisfy even demanding modellers.
  • Architectural models — scaled-down copies of buildings, whole neighbourhoods and urban planning projects for architects, developers and architecture students.
  • Collectible figures — characters from films, anime, video games and comics. Statuettes, busts and figures in dynamic poses for display cases and desks.

Print quality of fine details

Printing miniatures is a discipline of its own in the 3D printing world, and it needs a specific approach. For maximum detail we use a layer height of 0.12 mm, and 0.08 mm for especially detailed models. This lets us clearly reproduce fabric texture, individual chainmail links, facial features and other microscopic details.

Print speed for miniatures is lower than for standard parts, but the result is worth it. Every figure goes through careful quality control — we check the integrity of small elements, the absence of layer defects and overall fidelity to the original 3D model.

The best material for miniatures

PLA is the undisputed leader for printing miniatures, and here’s why. First, PLA gives the best detail of all FDM materials thanks to its low print temperature and minimal shrinkage. Second, a PLA surface holds acrylic paints, primers and varnishes beautifully — paint goes on evenly, doesn’t peel and keeps its colour for a long time. Third, PLA is hard enough for small elements — swords, spears and other thin parts don’t bend under their own weight.

For gaming figures that get handled a lot during play, PETG is a good fit — it’s tougher on impact, so small elements break off less often.

Post-processing and preparing for painting

After printing, a miniature may need some extra finishing for a perfect result. We recommend the following process: remove supports with a sharp hobby knife, carefully sand problem areas with fine sandpaper (400–800 grit) and apply a thin coat of primer before painting. After priming, the miniature is ready for acrylic paints — the layer lines become practically invisible.

Order miniature 3D printing for your next gaming campaign or collection — send us the model or a link to it (for example, from Printables, Thingiverse or MakerWorld), and we’ll print figures of the highest quality.

FAQ

How fine will the details on a miniature be?

We print with layers from 0.1 mm — fabric texture, chainmail links and facial features come out clearly.

What should gaming figures be printed in?

For detail — PLA: it reproduces fine elements best. Figures that get handled a lot are better in PETG — it’s tougher on impact.

Which files do you need for printing?

Send a 3D model in STL, OBJ, STEP or 3MF format. No file? We’ll tell you where to find a ready-made model (on Printables, Thingiverse or MakerWorld) or who can make one.

How much does printing cost?

The price depends on the material, size and complexity of the model. Typical prices: PLA from 5 UAH/g, PETG from 6 UAH/g, TPU on request. The minimum order is 250 UAH. Quotes are free.

What print accuracy do you offer?

We print with layers from 0.1 mm on a Bambu Lab A1 printer with dimensional accuracy to ±0.2 mm. Layer height ranges from 0.1 to 0.3 mm depending on the surface requirements.

Can I order a batch of parts?

Yes, we print both single items and small batches. Identical parts are printed together, so the per-piece price in a batch is lower.

How does delivery work?

By Nova Poshta anywhere in Ukraine, usually in 1–2 days. We ship on the day printing is finished or the next working day and send you the tracking number.
